Components and Sub Components
Projects have a specific structure of components and sub-components. Understanding the breakdown of these components helps to organize the project, order parts, sequence activities, and track budget and time. Resto-Rat establishes a basic component and sub-component structure automatically based on the Asset Type (fig: 4.1). Once that Component List and Sub Component list is established, it can be edited to add or delete components to fit your specific project. This structure is used throughout the project elements to organize budgets, task planning, time tracking, parts, and reporting. The structure can be edited at any time throughout the project. To see the Component Listing, simply touch the button in the upper right of the project screen and the Component Listing will appear.
By touching any one of the component listings, you can show or edit the sub component associated with that component. You can add new components by touching the white Add New Component text in the black bar in the upper right of your screen. This will bring up a new component name screen. If you go to the Sub-Component Listing for any Component, you can then add a new Sub-Component by touching the white Add New Sub-Component text in the black bar in the upper right of your screen.
You can delete a Component and all of its Sub-Components or just the Sub-Component from the respective Component or Sub-Component name page. Selecting the | Delete | button will delete the Component and its Sub-Components from the listing. This action CANNOT BE UNDONE. You will be prompted to verify deletion. Please proceed with caution for any deletion!
